Flight Operations Engineering - FOE

The Flight Operations Engineering (FOE) group is committed to provide support to Bombardier Commercial Aircraft (BCA) operators in the areas of Flight Operations / Performance Engineering. Our experienced flight operations engineers can provide the required level of support is to ensure that Bombardier aircraft are operated with the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and profitability.

Liaison support

FOE provides liaison support between operators and BCA for matters relating to Flight Operations / Performance Engineering, and works in collaboration with other BCA departments, as necessary, in order to ensure that all your needs are satisfied.

Training

Our flight operations engineers provide comprehensive training courses that will allow you to achieve optimum performance and to improve flight safety. Typical training programs cover the following items during a period of five days, and the course content can be tailored to suit your needs:

• Performance theory for all phases of flight
• Weight and balance
• Overview of flight operations publications
• Overview and use of baseline and optional ground-based software
• Special topics

The training courses are provided in Montreal and a certificate of attendance is provided upon completion of training.

Auditing/Consulting Services

The FOE group provides a range of auditing and consulting services to help operators get optimum operational efficiency. Bombardier aircraft are designed with flexibility in mind, and we want to help you to take full advantage of their potential. Following services are available:

• Audit of operators practices in relation to operational efficiency, followed by recommendations to achieve specific improvement targets and by the required support to implement recommendations.
• Special performance studies such as optimization of takeoff / missed approach climb performance with turning procedures, driftdown analysis, emergency descent / cabin depressurization flight profile analysis.
• Investigation and recommendation of performance improvement options relating to specific payload limitations due to performance considerations.
• Preparation of customized performance data for specific operators’ needs: data for flight planning systems, operational landing distances, etc.
• Customer support based on specific operators’ needs, either onsite or via WebEx meetings.
